These are parts people are bringing into a sight-reading workshop! So
many jazz composers don't even consider page turns -- the issue is
not even on their radar. For this, and many other issues, the
prevailing attitude is overwhelmingly: "the computer will take care
of it."
Regardless, there is absolutely no excuse for including a page turn
in the middle of an improvised solo. Regardless of whether the
soloist will _eventually_ memorize the changes or not, any mid-solo
page turn will still disrupt the first reading.

I should also have mentioned the soloist's part should *never*
include a page turn in mid-solo. This seems glaringly obvious, but
you wouldn't believe how often composers/arrangers who copy their
own parts make this mistake.
Well, such parts obviously ASSUME that a soloist will memorize and
play without music. But here's what I'm seeing at the college
level, and I assume that it's probably a trend all over the
country. Voice teachers still expect and insist that their
students memorize their songs. Instrumental teachers do not, and
that's a BIG change from when I was a student. (Piano teachers are
a tossup, and it seems to depend on the individual.) Of course
when I was a student and memorized concerto movements to play in
public, I still read off the music playing the Bach Double Concerto.
If this IS a trend, engravers have to keep it in mind. Obviously
if the guitar solo in question were to be performed from memory,
page turns would be a non-issue.
