Question: Why don't Finale's ending repeats behave like smart

Good question. I know some people on the list (I think Bill Duncan
is one) use Smart Lines instead of the Repeat Tool endings because
of this. The Repeat Tool is too problematic for me in so many ways
- I hope it will be the subject of a rewrite soon!
Actually, that question came from Bill in a phone conversation. The
problem with using Bill's custom smart line repeat endings is that
there is no staff list assignment, so they solve one problem and
create another. Neither tool/method works as well as it should, and
it does seem to me (in my non-programmer's imagination) easier to
assign smart shape behavior to the existing repeat tool than to
program staff lists for smart shapes, but what do I know?
