It'd be wonderful to see a recreation of the Fireworks Music (complete with a reconstruction of the Fireworks Temple built in 1749) and a group of period instruments that matches the first performance. According to Mr. Hogwood, there has never been such a recreation.
Really? Would you recreate the disaster as well? The whole thing went terribly wrong, after all. Glad you like the Hogwood book, though. If I may make a little recommendation: If you don't want to spent too much money, and want to hear a very inspired recording of both Water- and Fireworks Music, get the new Naxos recording with the Aradia Ensemble. My name is on there, too.
