In my current arranging project, I'm in 4/4, and have some bars where I need
quarter-note-triplets filling the bars (6 beats per bar), but... the first 2
beats of each triplet are a half-note. I can't seem to get Finale to accept
that. Any help? (I want to stay in 4/4, not be in 6/4.)
I'm on a Mac G3, OS 9.2.2, running Finale 2003a.

in speedy entry press option+1 - this will open the tuplets window- tell
finale to enter 6 quarter notes
in place of 4 quarter notes, enter one half-note one quarter note-one
half note- one quarter note, thats it.
should you need or want to indicate two separate tuplets go to
appearance and select nothing in number
and bracket and once you are back in your score type the tuplets
indication on top of each two note tuplet
- one half and one quarter note- via expression tool, otherwise you'll
get a sextuple indication of the notes.
