It’s a bit of a pain but it is the only solution. I have had to move thousands 
of files this way for many books.

It is definitely not the only solution, it is much easier to "print" (save) a PS file and then open that in Preview. I have done this many, many times, since my title graphic, which used to be a PICT, now has to be an EPS (thanks to Finale no longer supporting vector PICTs). It works and is tested.

However, there is a bug in Finale, where graphics under certain circumstances won't print on the correct page when using booklet printing or collated pages. There is a work around, if anyone needs it.
