I sat on the sidelines during the long ETF thread, but there's one point I'm curious about.

It was noted that with Finale 2K7 dropping support for ETF, that would discourage the development of new third-party plugins, because such plugins are typically created using ETF files.

No one suggested, however, that there would be any great difficulty in updating the existing plugins by Tobias, Robert, etc. to work w. 2K7, so I assume that no problems are expected in that regard.

If that is the case, then why couldn't plugin developers keep a copy of 2K6, use its ETF capacity to generate files for plugin work, then tweak the resulting plugin to function w. 2K7?
