Does it show up in the system profiler?
IE->Go to the Apple Menu, then About This Mac, then More Info, then
under Hardware->USB
I have a Garage Key (little keyboard) hooked up to this Mac, and it
shows up as PHECDA USB/Midi Device.
You might also try a different USB cable as well.....
