Wow, if you'd posted that on the front end, everyone would have been 
saved a lot of trouble. It's quite clear that the 32nd notes of the 
second system in the recorder should be 16th-note triplets (in modern 
notation) and that makes the interpretation of the first system 
simple.

And I was interpreting the 8th note at the end of the first system as 
a custos, but as an actual 8th note, it's perfectly consistent with 
the reading I gave, with a full half measure in all the parts.

Seems to me that my solution A is pretty solid. I can't see any other 
reading that's consistent with everything that follows and that makes 
the fewest alterations to the original notation. And my 
interpretation also provides an explanation of *why* the original 
notation is the way it is.
