Still, it seems to me that it would be good if MM changed things to accommodate this without having to re-generate the parts.

Now here's some thing else I'm seeing in 2007, and I'm not going to start waving any flags until I get this confirmed by someone else:

As I'm working on linked parts in another score that doesn't have the problems I've been discussing, I need to move some above staff measure expressions to different vertical positions. In doing this by dragging them, the first one on the staff shows its dotted baseline as you drag it, but if I drag similar expressions that appear in later measures, they do not show this baseline, making correct vertical alignment difficult to achieve. I don't remember such behavior in 2006. Am I right, and does anyone else observe this?
