This is one of the great mysteries of Finale. In what case would
one not want to update the layout? Does this go back to the days
where computers were so slow that it took time to update the layout?
Back to the days? Like yesterday, on version 2006 on a 733mHz Mac
that redraws three times sometimes when changing tools?
But actually, I sometimes make Tacet sheets by deleting all the
staves from a part and adding a text block that says TACET in big
letters. If I update layout after deleting all staves, then my titles
disappear too, so I leave it off.
