Hi all again,
Try this:
15 cents per "frame" (occupied measure) in the score, 7.5 cents per frame
in the parts.
This is often used as a "list" price from which you may give a "discount."
This looks quite good idea and practice, ill try something like this on next
job
where are you located?
in europe there is a minimum per page of 12 euros for score and parts
pages.
i dont know how many pages you did in those 8 months but if you imput 8
pages
per day x 240 (days in 8 months) .... you do math....
Im in europe, but having money for pages is not a justice price, cause this
work was in A2 format, with 85 diferent instruments acting as soloist and
grafical, non mensured and traditional notation interacting all at the same
time. This took me 2 days per page cause every page was full of notes, only
three pages had silence on wind instruments...

Payment be scheduled as follows:
25% to be paid when the manuscript is delivered to the engraver.
50% to be paid when the first draft of the completed engraved score is

You should have a competent contract lawyer review any contract you propose
to use with your clients. Make sure that in your contract the date that
you will receive the completed original manuscript is stipulated as well as
when you will deliver the final product by. If you don't specify a date by
which you'll deliver the finished project, the client can get really antsy
really fast and start complaining and hounding you. Likewise, if you don't
specify a date by which the completed original manuscript will be delivered
to you, the client may get you the score pages in small groups, making your
ability to do an efficient job next to impossible.
Good luck!
