Title: Re: [Finale] Linked Parts

Texts blocks are also very annoying, especially when you have different title pages for score and parts, because (unless I'm overlooking something) you have to have all the text blocks (for score and parts) on the same page, with some of them showing up only in the score, others only in the parts, and others in both. It makes it impossible to get a good idea of the layout, since some of the text blocks actually overlap (at least for me).

Here is a tip that I saved from the other Finale list. It should work until MM comes up with a better way to do things. My apologies to whoever first wrote this, I forgot to credit the source in my notes, but he/she is probably a Canadian judging from his/her "behaviour!"

You don't really need to "play the show and hide game between score and parts" if you instead drag the unwanted text block off the page.

[Note that in Macintosh Finale, the "override" key is the Command key.]

And note that the "override" key overrides the default behaviour.

Therefore:

To drag a text block off the page in the score without affecting the parts, hold down the Command key (since you want to override the default behaviour).

To drag a text block off the page in the parts without affecting the score, don't hold down the Command key (since you want the default behaviour).
