Just for fun, I generated a PDF of a Finale 2007 Windows score with
three different PDF programs, called up as printers within Finale. I
see no major differences in the quality of the documents, but, for
whatever it's worth, there are differences in the sizes of the files:
with Adobe Acrobat Distiller 6, 279 KB
with FreePDF, 180 KB
with PDF Creator, 169 KB
Unfortunately, although I used to program in Postscript, PDF files are
beyond my powers of analysis, but in any case, a more in-depth
comparison with a larger base of programs would be worth having.
