Sounds like it may be preferences. Trash your preferences file, restart, open a new file, and see what happens.

everytime I playback a file - the app quits (dialog box says the app has suddenly quit and gives options to report or reopen...) - happens with Garritan sounds and smart music soft synth - the time code in the playback controls window seems to hang on a negative number....anybody run into this?
