I've never seen Palatino on a Windows machine except as provided by a 
PostScript printer. I have Palatino Linotype, but don't know how it 
got installed on my PC (it's not WinXP). Perhaps it was in one of the 
Internet Explorer font packs. Examining both closely, Microsoft's 
Book Antiqua is vastly superior in the details.

I'd definitely check which is the best font if I had a choice, though 
I do note that the leading is different in the font preview, which 
would cause layout changes if switching between the two fonts.
