In my family, verkakte (as I usually see it spelt and pronounced) means none of those things, but simply "screwed up" or simply "screwy," as: "I can't get this verkakte computer to do what I want!" The computer is not necessarily of low quality, much less inauthentic or pretentious, but merely user-unfriendly.

Synonym: fershimmelt.

Slightly different: ferblunget (with soft g), which unlike the others implies "broken through inexpert handling."
