Almost forgot!
Turn off Display Rests in Empty Measures for the new staff style,
too, so that if you don't have entries in the measure it will show no
sign of existing.

Hello Group,
I'm using FinMac 2007 and Bill Duncan's "BD 1-Staff-Chords8x11"
template.
I want to indicate a particular chord rhythm in a bar using the
reduced
staff above the main staff. If I apply a staff style for that measure
that shows staff lines to allow me to enter the notes, how do I
hide the
staff lines for that bar without also hiding the notes?
Leigh,
Unfortunately, the Hide Staff staff style also hides the entries,
so you will have to create a new staff style for this.
It will have to be:
Staff - instead of No Change, make it O line with full barline.
Items to Display - uncheck Barlines, Clefs, Time Sig, Key Sig, and
maybe Staff Name, depending on whether or not the staff has a name
to hide.
Maybe you will want to check under Options - Break Barlines as well.
If you also want Rhythmic Notation (stemmed slashes), then you
select Alternate Notation>Rhythmic Notation, and perhaps you will
want to make stems up or something as well. All the options are
right there as you need them.
BTW, you don't need to see the lines of the staff in order to enter
notes. As soon as you open a Speedy Entry window, the lines show.
Once you exit, then the lines are hidden.
