There's a very large body of -cular words pulling the pronunciation in
that direction, against virtually none that end with a sound like
-cle-ar.
That doesn't stop me from thinking that anyone who pronounces it
[nukjulr] is a grade A idiot
(even if he is a high-ranking member of the US Federal Government).
