After hitting send, I decided I should have added something like "in the future" to the above statement.
I perceive the advantage of unicode support in text blocks, where it would make it much simpler to use Japanese for tempo indications, for example. But for me personally, I'm not yet persuaded of the necessity of Unicode support for the notational subsystems.
