I've wasted almost a full day on this, can't find the answer in 2006 manual or an old-version hard-copy manual...everything seems to apply to font settings prior to typing lyrics, not changing the size after the lyrics have been entered.

I've been given a Finale file and apparently when the lyric font was set, "fixed" was not specified. As a result, when the systems, etc. shrink, the Times lyrics do as well. I tried Scaling fonts and that did not work. The original file was set for three hymnal-size sheets; I've converted it to one letter-size sheet. When that happened, the lyrics became too small.
Select the lyrics tool, choose "edit lyrics" from the drop down menu to open the lyrics dialog box. Select all the lyrics in the dialog box by means of your favorite method, and select the "text" item from the menu bar of the "edit lyrics" dialog box. Choose "font", to open the font selection window, and this should open the font dialog box, wherein you should see the option to define the font as "fixed"size.

Be forewarned, though, that three pages of octavo size music spaced to fit a single letter size sheet may not fit the single sheet if the lyrics font size is fixed.
