| This can only work with music that doesn't use "normal" lyrics. The best
| solution for me is to enter "ghost" rests. Dragging things around is never
| a good idea.

Do ghost rests or notes affect spacing? If they don't then this would be a 
good method.

I've tried with lyrics before - I put the figured bass into the - chorus - 
since this isn't a rock song then a chorus style is pretty useless to 
perfect for the figured bass.

Johannes idea of a changed font is worth looking at to... since figured 
progressions on the same note need to aligned the same.
