*You* may be reasonable and understanding about it, but I've 
encountered plenty of people who think they are entitled to 
indentured servitude. 

Once it's out of my hands, it's no longer my responsibility. It 
sounds simple, but it's something some people don't fully seem to 
comprehend. I've had too many people balk at a quote of $2,000 for a 
small job who would say "But I could do that for $400." My response 
is "Go right ahead! I'm not going to stop you!" They often come back 
when they realize that no, they can't actually do it themselves.

But the fact that they *think* they can is where many problems come 
from. That's why these things need to be explicitly spelled out in a 
contract.
