In the lyrics tool, the fourth (right most) triangle affects the baseline position of only the active syllable; the next triangle to the left affects the baseline of the a lyric line containing the active syllable for a single staff in a system which has been optimized; the next triangle to the left affects the baseline of the lyric containing the active syllable for the entire work; the left-most triangle affects the baseline of all lyrics in the work globally.
