Looking around some more, I do see some odd behavior with smart lines when they are moved horizontally or when their endpoints are moved. That is, if I move an unlinked smart line vertically in the part, it does not move in the score. But if I move it horizontally, it does. I can't tell whether this is new to 2007a, or whether it's by design.
(There's a similar issue with slurs which I think is by design. If you unlink a slur and then change one of the endpoints in the part, the endpoint moves in the score as well. This is because you're changing part of the fundamental definition of the slur, not just a positioning option.)
