Well, one thing you missed is some details about the printer settings.
What resolution are you using for the printer? Another helpful thing
you missed mentioning was the thickness of the thin bar lines; how does
this compare with the thickness of the staff lines?
BTW, this is in finwin2k6. I haven't been able to
install 2k7 yet. It insists on 256 MB of RAM, and although I thought I
had that, the computer tells me I only have 248.
You need 256 MB of free RAM; if you only have 256 MB in your computer,
some portion of this (apparently in your case, 8 MB) is being used for
other processes. You don't say what processor, processor speed, or
memory quantity you have installed. I'd suggest upping your memory from
256 to at least 1 GB, but think hard before doing that; 1 GB will be
about $125 US, and for only two to three times that much you can get a
new machine with enough RAM, and a faster processor to boot.
