I also had a problem with this. It eventually worked for me, but I had to accept the error several times. Each time, the download would pick up where it left off. I think I was able to download it after 4 or 5 errors. Hope that's helpful. Good luck.

And what is the solution for that? I think that this is Finale searching for automatic updates on the Internet and not finding a connection. Probably upon installation you set it to check periodically, and when it starts up it looks for the MakeMusic website and fails. I have been seeing this recently in 2006 because my internet connection is getting flaky (bad connection? Cold solder on my ethernet card? Still looking.) To stop the message from showing up, you could try turning off check for updates. I think it would be in Program Options. Or you could check your internet connection, if you have one on that computer. My laptop gives that error if I am not near a wireless connection.
