LOL! I love this. You have found some of the fonts that do work.
To be even MORE specific... The problem fonts are Adobe Postscript Type 1 fonts (not OpenType Poscript fonts because OT works). Basically if you had purchased Adobe Fontfolio 8 or purchased newer than ~1993 postcript versions of Times, Palatino, and Helvetica fonts, they will not work work. The version of Times you used below "BITimesBoldItalic" is a much older version of Times. The version of Times that comes with Fontfolio 8 is from 1997 not 1990. Did you grab these from your MAC SE :-) The Helvetica is obviously not an Adobe font so sometimes those work and sometimes they do not. Isn't this fun ;-) OSX fonts and Finale are a real PINA.
