Another way is to actually change the measure to 6/4, and choose a
different time sig for display.
Choose the Time Signature tool.
Click on the first radio button under Measure Region to specify the
measures you want to change to 6/4.
Click on Options >>
Click on Use a Different Time Signature for display
using the bars in the *top half* of the dialog box, change the time
signature to 6/4.
Click OK.
This is on WinFin 2k7, but should be the same on other versions.
I see this a lot in Hymn music for some reason (I guess time sigs are
distracting to singers???) but as an instrumentalist it throws me off
not to have the time sig change indicated, even if for just one measure.

Could someone please explain to me how I can put 6 quarter notes in a
4/4 measure? I looked it up and thought I knew how to do it, but I am
doing something wrong and I end up with things I do not want.
1) Enter the first quarter note in the measure
2) Select the tuplet tool
3) Click on the first note entered in 1) above.
4) Set the values in the tuplet tool dialog box to contain six quarters
in the time of four quarters, and close the dialog box
5) Return to your entry method
6) Enter the other five/sixths worth of beats.
