"Just for info, Floral Dance was number 1 in the pop music charts in the UK
in the 70's with Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band, conducted by Derek
Broadbent who also arranged the music."

At that time one of my colleagues was a member of Brighouse & Rastrick band.
We had a particularly hard winter and one day a very heavy snowfall caused
problems on the roads.

My colleague (let's call him "Dave") phoned in to work to say that the snow
was so bad where he lived (quite some distance from our Manchester base) that
he coudn't even get out of the house, that all transport was impossible and
that he would therefore not be work in that day.

What he didn't know was that the snow was bad here too and that most of the
schools had closed and we had all been sent home. Imagine our joy when,
sitting in the comfort of our homes (as was the boss!) we saw Dave playing
with
Brighouse and Rastrick Band LIVE from Pebble Mill - the BBC studio in
Birmingham.

Cheers,

Lawrence
