Hi all,

I'm working with a piece in which the piano has a 3.5 bar phrase repeated for 100 bars or so, and the whole 100 bars are marked 8va. Rather than stretching an 8va smartshape out for that entire length, what do you think about just putting '8va sempre' at the beginning and then 'loco' when the passage is over? Or is there some other standard way of indicating a really long 8va passage?

I understand that this could lead to confusion if rehearsal started in the middle of the passage, but since the parts are for my use only this might be a chance I'm willing to take.

Thanks,
Aaron.

It would be clear enough to me.
