Greetings,

I have been playing with Finale 2007b on my PC, and I have noticed that when I put a retard or a tempo in the score, the HP generally ignores it. I like how HP interprets music (for the most part) but it is aggravating that it ignores markings that I purposefully put into the score. Does anyone have
any suggestions on how to make HP observe markings?

I know HP automatically interprets things like "pizz" and dynamics, but does it really interpret tempo markings that are not previously set to a playback value? And I don't think that HP, as smart as it is, would know to interpret a marking that is misspelled "retard" instead of "ritard."

Is there a list anywhere of what exactly HP understands and what it does with it? I don't know of one; perhaps someone knows where these things are documented.

My advice is to click the marking in question, hit Return to open up the edit dialogue box, and add a playback value. This will work for sure.

Christopher
