i don't think it's a bug, i think it is designed that way intentionally.

finale will only recognize EDU values which can be represented with a single note, which explains why a dotted quarter (1536) works, but 2560 doesn't. a single durational values equaling 5/8 doesn't actually exist. of course i agree it would be great if finale could nonethless deal with it the way you want it to.

in order to make sure the beaming doesn't break on the final 8th in 5/8 (as it would do with 4+1/8), use smaller beat values in compound time sigs, like 9+1/16 or 19+1/32 or 39+1/64 or...
