I need to scan a score a make a PDF of it to send via email. (The score is made

It's the first time I do that and am totally newbie about the matter.
I have Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro and an all-in-one HP printer/scanner.
Is it enough as a starting point? Do I need another software?
Can I have help here or is there a tutorial I can follow?
Thanks a lot

Is this a Finale score? If so, simply print to a PDF printer driver such as PDF995 or CutePDF or somesuch. Since you have Adobe Acrobat 7, there should be a Distiller printer driver installed -- print to that.

If it's a non-Finale score, then scan it in at printer resolution (when in doubt 300dpi seems to work well), with each page being a single graphics file. For non-lossy files, save as a TIFF and label each page something like score1.tif, score2.tif, etc. Then simply import the graphics into a new document in Acrobat, one per page, set the page sizes appropriately for easy printing on the other end (most likely 8.5x11 or A4 or something similar) and then save the new document with 5 pages as score.pdf.

Then for flawless e-mailing, zip the file up. I create PDF files using a variety of methods and there are still some of my e-mail recipients who get an indication of there being an attachment, but the body of the e-mail is total gibberish. Others receiving the same e-mail with the PDF attachment have it come through just fine and the attached pdf file opens perfectly in Adobe Reader. So I know the problem isn't on my end -- but zipping the PDF file and then attaching the zip file to an e-mail gets through to everybody just fine.
