I hear ya, baby.
For some tasks, it would be easier to alter things in a sequencer.
For example, in Cubase (my sequencer of choice, though I am sure
others have this function as well) there are tools like Legato (which
eliminates overlap and avoids the eighthnote, eighthrest appearance
instead of quarter note) and Set To Length, which effectively
quantises the length of the notes. These things are so much easier to
do in Cubase than in Finale that I often "massage" the sequence first
before importing it.
Some problems with this are: it doesn't work so well on chorded
parts, nor on parts with different rhythms on the same track. Then
it's mind-numbing time.
It sure would be nice for Finale to have some clean-up features like
this.

Oh, very cute! Nice one! I completely missed that.

Use MassMover, select that voice only, MassEdit --> Utilities -->
Implode Music --> top staff of selection.

Any way to mass delete all double-headed unisons from imported midi
files?
