Yup, 2007 worked out fine. 2006 not so fine.

Chris,
In FInale 2007 only (not earlier versions), you can deauthorize on
your old Mac by choosing "Deauthorize Finale" from the Help menu.
After you do this, you can register Fin2007 on your new Mac.

If anyone is thinking of switching computers on the weekend when
MakeMusic offices are closed, DON'T DO IT!
I bought a big, hairy MacIntel and used the Migration Manager to
move everything painlessly over to the new machine, then
discovered that I had to authourise the new machine with
MakeMusic. As I was already up to my limit, I thought it would be
no problem to de-authourise my old machine and authourise the new
one, but no go! According to the weekend registration person, I
need to talk to someone at the head office to work these things
out. This means no saving or printing until 11 am my time Monday!
She even suggested de-installing then re-installing to gain
another 30 days grace (apparently the Migration Manager lets the
new computer know how long I have had Finale!) but that failed
miserably, as Finale is too smart for a tactic like that. I only
lost all my preferences, even though the de-installer said I would
lose no files that I had altered myself. It lied.
Anyway, I am tearing my hair out in frustration here. Two days
cooling my heels when I have a screaming deadline is no fun.
Anyone know how to get around this?
