Ah. That explains that. Now I see all the hyphens. They are not exactly
smart, though, if I have to update them manually, are they?

The other question that raises in my mind is why there isn't some
master-switch which auto-updates *everything* in Finale which is updatable.
Why should we be able to have auto-update-layout turned on so that we
don't have to update it, but have to remember (I didn't even know this
was a necessity) to manually update the hyphens? They should update
automatically.
ctrl-u should update everything, not just the layout, especially since
other things can affect how we feel about the layout.
