The Subject says it all.
How can playback be altered so that "what I see is what I get"?
Thanks,
Earl
Do you have an articulation such as a staccato on the half note? If so,
remove it.
If you don't have an articulation, then go into playback options and
click on the More Options and then uncheck all the "Play Recorded . . .
" boxes.
If it still isn't the proper length, one other possibility is the patch
you're using for playback -- a plucked acoustic bass such as patch 32
won't sustain the same length as contrabass patch 43. If you have the
patch set to pizzicato, it won't sustain either.
I just had another thought -- when you say
notation=half/playback=quarter, could it be that you have the meter set
to cut-time?
Or do you have an expression defined for playback which may have been
set for half-note=120 or some such tempo? Check any/all expressions you
have in the score in the first measure of your piece for playback
assignments.
