There might be some sort of issue with the Maestro Default file. I
have been having issues with all kinds of 2007 Component files, like
libraries that won't load. The problems were all corrected by saving
my own version of the file in the Component Files folder. Try opening
the Maestro Default file directly, then saving it after some
insignificant change.
And talk to tech support. They suggested this, but didn't tell me
what the problem might be, even after I asked.
I wonder if it might be a permissions issue just the same. You know
that the desktop info window DOESN'T work to change permissions as
you think it might? Try resetting permissions individually on the
Component Files folder, then on the items inside one at a time
(checking the "apply to enclosed items" is one of the things that
doesn't work properly.)
