No, Spotlight (the OS X 10.4 search function) really does blow chunks. Hopefully it will get a complete makeover in 10.5.

On a Mac and you are searching for files, how _do_ you specify a "wildcard"?

As in: "*fred*.jpg"

I'm sure Darcy and others will tell me how wonderful that is and how much easier it can make my life and I just don't like change. Maybe so, but for me all it means is that when I want to find a file I have to click through a couple of menus just to say filename = "xxx". I miss the old, simple find function.
