I've have nothing but pain when using independent time signatures,
because so many features of Finale don't know about them. Especially
annoying can be meas-attached smart shapes.

My recommendation is to change your independent time sig to be 3/4
displayed as 9/8. That way it is metrically identical to the main 3/4
time. You can then add an invisible triplet on every beat. My Mass
Copy plugin can make very quick work of adding the triplets.

[Finale 2002]

I am trying to enter some music with independent time signatures (main one
3/4, independent one 9/8). Right from the start I noticed strange spacing
(a large space at the end of the bar) but since it only seemed to affect
scroll-view I didn't worry and kept going. Now I have tried copying music
and found that the 3/4 music gets copied but not the 9/8 music. I tried
this as a single block, then independently with each
stave. I can drag the music, but not copy it. That may work at the
moment, but I have noticed more spacing problems, with accidentals
colliding with noteheads, although all spacing parameters are set to avoid
collisions and bar sizes are large.

Can I fix this? Is it a known bug? Can I fix it by starting from scratch
again?

Michael Lawlor
