Also, you need to take a close look at the features you receive for the price. They only attempt to bring Sib. in line with today's Finale. They have again taken many of the best features in Finale and are trying to incorporate them into their program. It's pure catch up in my view. Rather like Vista and OSX dare I say?

No. If Sibelius delivers what it promises, ie if they repaired the most common problems, both in terms of bugs and in terms of features which Finale already has, the absolute list of new features would be of little interest. It would simply be the better program, and even 400 Dollars would be a good price for that. Compare that to Fin2k7: More bugs per dollar than ever.

Well, you've got a long way to go before you can even consider the output quality, let alone any new plugin developments. That's the killer for me, plus the time-on-project element.

You mention in another email the problems with Finale's slurs. Try the sib. version.

We'll see in due course if all these promises transpire bug free, they rarely do, see Finale for details. All publicity is overplayed. I would resent paying 400 dollars for a 5th upgrade of anything.

They're pulling the same old trick, they announce an upgrade just before Finale. They announce a whole bunch of improvements that are already available in Finale (or just about to come out) and hope everyone jumps ship...only to find the rats also jumped with them!!

What annoys me is that those of us who need to use both apps get stung either way.
