That is bizarre, but it works. Thanks! You have to be really careful, though: Uncheck "independent time" Copy source. Immediately UNDO last command (independent time). Paste to destination. (If you don't undo the change, Finale doesn't remember what independent time signature was used, and the whole part is trashed.) Amazing. I think this qualifies as a bug.
