So I changed the dynamic from fff to mf and the blatts were gone. This much I can at least take into an audio editor and fix!
This suggests that a sample used in a velocity switch (one that kicks in only above a certain dynamic) for that one note is somehow corrupt or improperly assigned (i.e. the wrong note linked to that slot) or the sample looping points are wrong or a host of other mistakes like that.
I have several top drawer instrument sample collections that have the odd ugly note. You wonder how they slipped through without anyone noticing.
Only Windows users have reported this so far. The sample library is the same for Mac and Windows so I'm guessing that the problem is in the way the sample player (Windows) is reading the instrument data.
Do you get the same results by using different sample players? (I don't know if you have access to NI's Kontakt 2, but it might give different results than Garritan.)
This might be a job that Gary Garritan himself needs to fix. -Randolph Peters _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
