I got answers back from Joe in tech support abut the bugs, some of
which were very encouraging.
#2 I didn't understand his explanation, as it seems to me that Bb
transposition up a tone means just that for notes AND chord symbols.
I told him that.
He didn't reply to #7, 2-up printing problems. May I ask that other
Mac users who have trouble with the 2-up printing write in and complain?
#16 was happening to me in 2007c, as I explained in my reply. If this
has happened to others past 2007a, please write in in support.
I am on the warpath now that it is summer, and I actually have the
time to do this. If anyone else can chip in, please open a case and
explain exactly what went wrong.

I have gone over your list and also reviewed it with a colleague. I
will try to address each of your unresolved concerns:
1. (Spelling change with music exploding) We are aware of this
problem, and it has been documented and set to be addressed in a
future release.
2. (Chord transposition) While this is the normal functionality of
the program (as Finale does not make assumptions for how chords are
to be redefined/spelled when transposed in a staff with no tonal
center), feel free to submit a seperate case requesting this as a
feature request and we can pass this on to our developers.
3. (Imported shape expression handles) We are aware that some
imported images can effect how Finale positions handles. I will
pass on a request to have this issue looked into further.
5. (Hyphens) We are aware of this functionality and are currently
re-evaluating it.
9. (Repeat brackets) This problem has been documented and is set to
be addressed in a future release.
10. (Staff styles copy improperly) We have not been able to
reproduce this behavior in Finale 2007 or 2008. For this problem, I
would recommend submitting a new case to us about this issue alone
with detailed steps that reproduce the problem. This way, we can
give it individual attention.
12. (Copying measure attributes) There is not currently a way to
copy certain measure attributes such as this. Feel free to submit a
seperate case requesting this as a feature request and we can pass
this on to our developers.
13. (Plug-ins in Linked Parts) We are aware that this is not
possible in some cases - no plug-ins will work in linked parts, and
have been disabled deliberately. We are looking into other
possibilities for future releases.
14. (Shortening stems with flags) Feel free to submit a seperate
case requesting this as a feature request and we can pass this on
to our developers.
15. (New staves automatically assigned to new MIDI channels/
Instruments) This functionality has in fact been changed in Finale
2008. When you create a new instrument using the Setup Wizard, the
new staff is assigned to a new instrument and an unused MIDI channel.
16. (New heights of new staff systems) This particular issue was in
fact addressed in the Finale 2007a maintenence and has since been
resolved.
17. (Check Document Fonts Against System Fonts) This problem has
been documented and is set to be addressed in a future release.
18. (Extraneous Beat Charts) I could not reproduce this behavior.
For this problem, I would recommend submitting a new case to us
about this issue alone with detailed steps that reproduce the problem.
19. (Articulations moving at redraw) We are aware of this occurence
in certain cases, and it too has been documented and is set to be
addressed in a future release.
