Thanks for the replies. I did finally find
the info in the QuickRef book, but a search
of the PDF help doc showed nothing about
stems and I find the tutorial method in the
booklet to be very unhelpful: I don't work
the way the author works, I don't have the
same needs as he/she when I transcribe my
manuscripts and plowing through a tutorial
when all I want to know is what happens when
I click something is not a reasonable way for
me to learn. I guess a big part of the
problem is the unintuitive way things work in
PM2007 and I've learned any number of other
programs with little or no reference to the
docs, including very big and complex programs
like Photoshop. This is the first time I've
ever been stymied by basic operations.
But, thank you so much for the ability to
type the lyrics right into the score - it
will save me no end of problems copy editing
and fixing mistakes.
