I too am like this, even to the extent that when I teach my students I
get them to use Speedy as well (which is probably a stupid thing for
their education since Simple Entry is much more like Sibelius).

Part of the issue perhaps is that, IIRC, in Simple you choose the
duration and then assign a pitch to it.  Whereas in Speedy the pitch is
chosen first and then the duration assigned (except if you have Caps
Lock down of course).

I must admit that this is one of the big problems I'm having making any
progress in Sibelius.  It isn't as flexible in terms of the variety of
approaches to entering material.  I'm finding it difficult to 'think' in
terms of durations first, even when just entering pre-existing material,
let alone creating original material directly within the application.
