I was never able to figure out how; when I needed one, I had a couple of
workarounds I've used since FIN 2k:
1) Create a mini ruler as a 3 inch long shape expression (disallowing
stretching); and
2) Create a smart shape line with a tick mark upwards at regular
intervals; I found 1/2 inch convenient, but it could be any distance
between that one wished.
I recently installed 2k4 and used it to open my favorite default file
that I have been using with 2K3. I have instrument names included in
my default file and they showed completely in 2K3. In 2K4 I notice
that the instrument names are being cut off by the left margin. For
example:
I see "Trombone" in 2K3 and "mbone" in 2K4.
My first hunch is that this is a settings issue. Is this on screen, on
the printed page, or both? In either case, check all your page
settings, and if it is only on printed pages, be certain that you are
printing on the proper size paper in the proper orientation.
