You're right, there is no obvious way.
You have to experiment with staff sizes, system margins, and
distances between systems. Fortunately, you can do this on an
extracted part, then transfer the settings you find to the Part
Extraction Options box in the score for the other parts. Write them
down on a PostIt, or save them in your default file.
For a small number of parts, or just to find values on one part, would
it be quicker to use Page Layout Tool, Page Layout, Space Systems
Evenly, All Pages, Place 10 Systems on Each Page? This gives you
system margins and distances automatically. You would still have staff
size to be adjusted manually, in a different tool. I make substantial
use of this tool, having discovered it when FinWin 2004 kept losing
systems between pages or duplicating them on two.
