Apparently, one also needs FAN files for those fonts, as some of the items (the wavy lines) float too high above the staff in the Finale doc, as opposed to the PDF.

That is a good point. The fonts aren't much use without the accompanying FAN files, especially if you've custom edited those FAN files, as I have for the Fughetta font.

This all illustrates how difficult it is to share Finale files with other users, such as music editors and copyists. You need the right fonts installed, the same FAN files, and possibly the same plug-ins. All those files need to go into special places and those are different for Mac and Windows.

I know there are copyright/licensing issues when you share fonts and commercial plugins, but I wonder if there couldn't be a simpler way to manage all the extras when you share a Finale file. I'm thinking of a program that installs all the files in the right places and gives you the option of removing them afterwards and returning all your text/preference files back to the way you want it.

Is there a demand for something like this, or is this one of those specialist needs that probably won't get addressed?
