I would say the standard rule is "write it the way the composer did". Exceptions to this rule occur:

- if the composer has clearly made a mistake
- if the composer was using a style of notation so far removed from present-day style that some sort of "transcription" is needed.

In this case I don't see any reason to change the way Lully wrote it.
